David,
Nice post. As a point of reference, MTI does not attach to every box out there. They have chosen to focus on a few platforms. Where was HWP in this bid??? MTI is working on their mirroring piece and this should help. Look for MTIC to advertise strongly starting in the June quarter. Their backlog on the 6700 is giving the confidence to spend the $$$$$. I have also been involved with a couple sites bidding HP boxes and MTI has won over EMC and HP but mainly because the storage application was 1-2 TB and EMC was too expensive and HP has no solution. MTI won both over a Clarion reseller. Keep in mind MTI does not make storage for every platform including mainframe attached. Greg can not come up with any facts or data about MTI not EMC so just expect him to provide no subtance to this board other than EMC is great and going to the moon and he does not like MTI. I too wish he would backup his statements with facts or information but he must not know much about it. I have to say EMC is a great company and I do get why it trades at an 80 PE and only growing at 30% and it is because it the undisputed storage leader. MTI's opportunity is in the companies like the internet space that do not already have EMC and who are more concerned about price/performance numbers and willing to take a shot at MTI. These tend to be newer companies and they may not already be entrenched in EMC. Once EMC gets a customer it is hard to get in the door. IMO MTIC's stock has no expectation built into the stock and the risk/reward is extremely favorable. All they have to do is prove one more time to the street that they are on track and can come out with a decent amount of 6700 orders the stock will start to move. (even if they don't the stock will hang in this range)They only have one more down sales comparison I believe and we are up again.
Thanks again for the informative post David.
