WAKE UP YOU FROM THE BUILDING K PARTY!

Maurice and Clark Discussion-

Since we are looking for something to worry about - it has become a "state of mind" after all - the risk of the deal seems like ERICY doesn't have any incentive to push CDMAOne or CDMA2000 vs. its own W-CDMA. This is the problem of any license situation - you get 5% of X but you have no control over what X is. This was what was nice about owning the infrastructure division. At least the Q (with infrastructure) could prod and increase the size of X. I haven't heard the conference call yet (out of touch with my computer for the big fireworks day!) but let's hope that Maurice is right -- that the competitive push for providers to be compatible with early installs of CDMAOne and CDMA2000 will push providers away from waiting for W-CDMA. Not sure if this would happen in Europe though. From what I can gather, the Q will still benefit more from incidental ASIC's etc for CDMAOne or CDMA2000 installations than from W-CDMA installations. Maybe these issues will get clarified more in the quarterly conference call. Just me concerns after a great day! Tom
