Hi Northstar,

As your may have guessed, the current weakness and general lack of interest in MTON at these levels has caused me to re-assess the basis for my investment/confidence.

The big negative is the rapidly changing manic/depressive (i.e. greed/fear) psychology of this stock. I also get the impression that the MMs keep trying to walk it back into the 12's but the selling continues to push it into the high 11's.

I made good money on MTON from the summer, buying from $10 - $7 (on the way down), and selling in the $17's. I bought more recently at $14 and $13, thinking we were at bottom. The bounce off of $11 1/2 seemed to confirm it. But the current low volume and price near the recent lows made me decide to sell the shares I recently purchased. I still have a few, but I'm getting the feeling they may be dead money ... or worse.

I took the proceeds and bought some HDIE, which got undeservedly trashed from $7 - $3 3/8. I picked some up in the high $3's and low $4's. HDIE is in the high $4's now, but I don't think it will break $5 until they report something which leads its analysis to believe it will meet or out perform its earnings estimates for 1999.

Regards,
Chris
