I agree with everything you said and I think you answered the question. But to make sure..

Would central bankers that intervene in currency markets by purchasing U.S. assets make the same purchases in their personal investment accounts? (do they really think it's a good deal?)

In other words, are they buying assets that promote the short term national interests of their country (possibly just political as opposed to sound economics)?

Because of geo-political pressures?
