Luciano:If you remember Dell's selective use of channels intensified somewhat when Compaq and others announced that they would try and muscle their way into Dell territory (aka 'emulating the Dell model').This hybrid model being adopted by CPQ and others infuriated may dedicated channels and Dell promptly decided to take advantage of this opportunity.

It is like this,when someone attacks your territory you not only defend your territory with all your might but you mount a counter offensive and hit hard especially you hit at where the enemy has just created a weak point,in this case the pissed of channels.That is the way I see it.
