ron-re april -jan effect.not likely in my opinion.the market these days is about chasing the leaders as money managers( areal abuse of the phrase) try not to UNDERPERFORM .investing in value which is what you are suggesting isn't working so it is being abandoned,for now.biggs said, and i agree,that small cap etc won't will be in trouble still if the big stocks start to crack.(the chart you were talking about looks like hell.)i think that small stocks won't work until we have a big wipeout in the market that restores sanity and common sense sense to the investment business.THEN small stocks will be THE place to be because that is where the value is.i have felt this way about the russell for some time.look at japan as there 10 year bear market has unfolded big stocks really aren't that cheap but there are many many small stocks selling below net-net liquidating value.i'm not saying it will become that extreme here but you get the idea.no,when the nifty 50 techs and internets crack,as they ultimately will small stocks will get hurt too but in the meantime they will not rally well.just my opinion.often wrong never in doubt(BG).
