Clark, Have you ever heard of Laser-Pacific (LPAC)? They were referenced in a post somewhere (didn't note the source, sorry).
Here's a Summary, from Yahoo: "LPAC provides post-production services such as film processing, film to video tape transfer, electronic editing, color correction, sound editing and mixing, and duplication to producers of network TV series and TV movies. For the nine months ended 9/30/98, revenues increased 10% to $21.2 million. Net income totalled $729 thousand vs. a loss of $1.7 million. Revenues reflect increased production services. Earnings also reflect an $875 thousand gain on the sale of a subsidiary."
My question is, What technologies are they using? Are they using any compression? (Doesn't sound like it).
The post I saw suggested that LPAC is the leader. But, they don't sound very high end/cutting edge. Who will be Q's competitors in Cinecomm, and later development and spread of compressed video?
