[Off-Off-Off-Topic] Razorback Basketball

<<I will never forget Reed and that incredible shot>>

You mean this shot? <vbg>

<<ARKANSAS 74, LOUISVILLE 73

March 14, 1981 at Austin, Texas

Defending NCAA champion Louisville and SWC champion Arkansas clawed at each other for 39 minutes and 55 seconds in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and the scoreboard said Louisville 73, Arkansas 72 after Derek Smith's short jumper for the Cardinals.

The Razorbacks, who had led by six points with 2:13 left, called timeout. U.S. Reed took the inbounds pass and coolly dribbled to near midcourt near the sideline. With a second left on the clock he launched a desperation 49-footer. The only thing desperate after the shot was the look on the faces of the Louisville players as they watched the ball hit nothing but net.

Reed shook hands with everyone on the press table after hitting a shot that will live forever in the minds of Razorback fans. He finished with 19 points. Darrell Walker had 23 and the Hogs were still alive in the NCAA Tournament.>>

Still, though, this has to be my all-time favorite Razorback basketball memory...
