Gene, I think it is very simple. IBM and Intel have something to sell to that market, so it would behoove them to see it grow like a weed. They don't necessarily need reality to conform to their vision to make predictions. <g> I think internet commerce is here to stay and will be as big as catalogue sales. In other words, not that huge. Some things lend themselves to internet selling; most don't. You can buy a car on the net, but who doesn't want to see his or her car before buying? Ditto for furniture. Who would buy a chair they haven't sat in?
