I think everybody knows that I have been salivating over the impending release of Heavy Gear 2. Having played the demo AND now having downloaded and played the Mechwarrior 3 demo, I have to say that both are good....not great but good. Note however, that the HG2 demo release was many months ago and that the team has said repeatedly that the new version will be much, much improved. The HG2 demo was very cool....however, my biggest gripe is that the game does not forgive ineptitude or spasticity well. I had my behind handed to me many, many times before I could really figure out what to do to simply stay alive. If you get hit for a span of 15 seconds, its over. It really isn't like being in a MECH...and different from the original version of HG. I hope that they play balance it better so that you don't get killed so easily. Otherwise, it's like not wearing any armor at all and running around in your underpant and it will discourage a lot of casual gamers. The MW3 demo is also a big graphic step up from the MW2 series. The sound effects are most cool. But the lasers get annoying after a while. I found that the monitor for self damage was totally useless as you couldn't seven see the damn thing and that there were some other problems. I will get this game, but unfortunately, it seems like more of the same in terms of gameplay. Just my opinion.... Tom
