Acquiring AAPL would have been stupid. Just think, McNealy could be in Gil Amelio's shoes right now. Instead, he gets to collaborate with a winner like CSCO.

It's a shame about AAPL though. If this was twelve years ago, AAPL would have discovered the internet and networking before anyone else did. As I see it, the problem with AAPL was not Spindler. The problem was letting a guy who did not understand technology and who cut his teeth selling soda pop run the shop for ten years. You can't run a high tech company by sitting still and balancing the check book. You gotta ATTACK! The fact that the Mac is considered superior after all these years is a testament to how far ahead AAPL was over a decade ago.

Oh well. I suppose AAPL could have done worse. They could have a let a lawyer like me run the company.
