jim:

Your reliance on the channel-stuffing conspiracy theory is special pleading. You strive to dress your cultic fixation on DELL in the cclothes of rational argument. But your reasoning can survive only bby constant revisionism. Underlying your posts is a deep anxiety tthat your lode star - DELL - is waning, and that from beyond its short-term halo emerges the COMPAQ sun, bigger and brighter than ever.

You know, as well as I, that the position you stated in your response is not the position you have stated on numerous previous occasions. However, it is a good sign that you are changing your position and trying to deflect attention from your purchase of DELL near its all time high when you were at a Las Vegas casino.

Emotion is part of the human condition and of course it is part of investing as reflected in posts on this and every other thread. How quickly, for example, the triumphant euphoria of the DELL thread changes to fear. Systemic pessismis and fear is not only barren in its results, it is also un-American! Rational optimism is the only emotion which creates wealth and builds companies and nations.

I think you are fascianted with this thread, jim, because of the high quality of its postings about COMPAQ and related matters, because of the knowledge, wit and eloquence of the contributors, because you llearn more about DELL and the PC industry here than on the DELL tthread, and because of your gnawign anxiety that it is time to ddiversify, time to de-brief from the DELL cult and time to invet in CCOMPAQ.
