Rande, I don't have access to a Playco store, but I have shopped in Toys-R-Us. In the last two years I have entered Toys-R-Us in both VA and FL at least five or six times. **Every** time I vow that I will NEVER set foot in one again. I haven't been in one since last Christmas, and I won't go in one this year. Sorry Toys-R-Us (if you're listening)snotty staff and grumpy managers won't get my business -ever. Anymore, if I go into a business and the service is anything less than warm and sincere, I'll leave. I don't care how deep your discount is. My wife and I boycott more local businesses due to bad service, and I think we aren't the only people who feel this way. I prefer to pay *more* just to get the service I deserve. Believe me, as hard as I work for my money, I deserve great service.
If some of you on the thread can comment on Playco stores service, I would appreciate it. IMHO the key to finding a good retail stock is how well the store front is run. Great fundas and an extensive product line are moot points if your stores don't attract the business.
My wife and I are planning business of our own eventually. And based on the level of service we encounter in 3/4 of the businesses we come in contact with, I think we will make a *mint*.
Think about it, when was the last time a cashier or clerk even said "thank you" when they took your money? Doesn't happen very often does it? I don't mean the typical "have a good day" crap, I mean a sincere "thanks for your business" -and that's just the tip of the service iceburg.
Anyway, enough of my preachin'. The point I'm trying to make is the BIGGEST part of DD in many businesses is "How do they treat their customers?".
