Let me be specific. Not sure that I was.

Whenever I saw PCQuote or S&P Comstock running behind, it appeared to be primarily a Level2 problem.

Bright does very little NASDAQ, so it's not that big of an issue. For nearly all of Bright's remote traders, they use RediPlus for watching the Bid and Ask and something else (more often than not MarketTrack98 www.mt98.com) like charts, futures, etc.

To answer your question about 3rd party, I don't know. MarketTrack98 seems to be very good, but I don't know of any screening software that can use it as a feed. It appears that PCQuote and SPComstock are the best in that realm (and possibly TAL themselves) from what I've read hear and in my and other traders experience (we had one guy that was using BMI and getting trades MINUTES late!).

But for me the question is kinda moot. It's infrequently that the delay is more than a second or two, and when I get a signal, I always do a quick chart check (which is just a dbl-click on FirstAlert) to see if it's a signal with merit (most aren't... no matter what kind of filter you design). And for those trades a few seconds really doesn't matter.

That's it regarding the quote systems. What follows below is in answer to your comment about Bright's remote trading... anyone not interested, just move on to the next post.

Regarding Bright's remote program... Once a trader has traded PROFITABLY in a Bright office for at least 2 weeks, and he has more money in his account than he started with, he can go remote. No one starts as a remote trader. Bright wants to make sure you can trade successfully in an office before you go remote. To some people, it's a hassle (but there are 28 offices in the US) and to some it's an eye-opener, but the benefit of the margin and 1 cent commissions makes it worthwhile to the ACTIVE trader (if you're not trading over 10,000 a day it's not worth it).

They don't push the remote program, but it is available for successful traders.
