Watch list for tomorrow, 3/29/99.

Buys:

VIA. Continue long. Short at 81.778.

VOD. Continue long. Short at 168.764.

MRL. Go long at open + 0.93

JRM. Go long at open + 1/16

NXLK. Continue long. Short at 55.738

Shorts:

AWA. Short at 18.538 or better.

Lots of mixed signals today on the neural nets, which is reflective of all the markets as a whole. With maybe the exception of NXLK, I'm probably going to skip trading tomorrow until I get a better idea as to where the market is headed. We may not get that signal until the FED meets on Tuesday. Needless to say, I know a number of people who religiously trade the S&P futures and they're uncharacteristically waiting on the sidelines, patiently waiting for some sort of signal to safely short the market as we enter a period historically known for market corrections.

Regarding commodity-driven stocks, we should be getting a pullback in crude sometime soon. Much of the recent run-up has been speculation driven (i.e. OPEC) and is not supported by any sort of change in the fundamentals. The picture should be clearer as we approach do or die time on the delivery of those contracts.
