This company hasn't gone public, but it might soon, and IPO hawk Tom Taulli thinks it'll be big -- if and when it does. The company is DVD Express, and it might become the Amazon.com (AMZN) of couch potatoes. Writing on Hedge Hog.com's Web site, Taulli says the Web is the solution for technophiles in search of a good selection of digital video disk titles. DVD Express (www.dvdexpress.com) is the biggest seller of DVDs, and Taulli says the company's on the fast track for growth. It has sold more than a million DVDs to hungry consumers so far, and that number could top 2 million by the second quarter of this year.

Taulli says the company recently launched an intensive marketing campaign and has signed agreements with Gateway Computer (GTW) and Toshiba as well as cross-promotion campaigns with some of the major movie studios. It has also signed portal deals with Infoseek (SEEK), MSN, Alta Vista and America Online (AOL).

As for when the public can take a gamble on DVD Express, Taulli says it has already obtained some equity financing from GeoCapital Partners. That's the same company that funded Netcom, Realtor.com, and AutoWeb.com, which itself just filed to go public. Taulli says given the financing and aggressive growth of the DVD industry, this company looks like an excellent candidate to go public sometime this year. Read the full story
