Dell, IBM Shares May Be Undervalued, Goldman's Cohen Tells NYT

New York, March 28 (Bloomberg) -- Dell Computer Corp. and International Business Machines Corp. are two technology companies selling below the market's price-to-earnings ratio which ''deserve'' to be selling at higher multiples, said Goldman, Sachs & Co. investment strategist Abby Joseph Cohen, the New York Times reported.. Cohen also said that BankAmerica Corp. and Bank One Corp. are trading at a discount and represent value after bank stocks were hurt in August and September. Cohen said the strength of the U.S. economy will continue to help cyclical stocks, and she likes the energy industry, the paper said.

Cohen raised her forecast for the Standard & Poor's 500 Index earlier this month, saying the benchmark could end the year at 1325 instead of the 1275-1300 she previously estimated.
