Judy about 6 wks ago, I began to buy shares of some oil service companies. glm, rig,do,esv, rdc, hmar and, kmg. most have done well. but, I am thinking to add to several positions and possibly look for a few more. Time horizon is 3 yrs plus/minus. however, i have lost profits in past by holding too long. is there a % profit that one should set on a particular stock and sell at that point? i don't think these stocks will ever be much lower than levels i got in-but, wdik? are you a proponent of taking predetermined % profit (also accepting % loss and cutting losses?)? i am asking you because i have followed si thread for some time and have benefitted from your judgments in the past. any guidance you could give will be appreciated. also, to any other poster-particularly ike, oj, se, nemer, gz -that may want to share a point, please do. thanks e
