Well brace yourself. In a place in the United States there was found copious diamond float in soil sometimes up to 80 carats and of very high quality, the most common colour was not white but a pale beautiful green. These diamonds were found by many people over years, ruling out faking or some other source and pointed to a possible Canadian origin. When this occurred it was not common to follow float up ice to its source and this theory of a bedrock origin was not then nor has since been pursued. Chasing the great green diamond. What an idea. But there are no takers.
