Proverbs 3

1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

King Solomon understood the value of mercy and truth. Both are precious commodities to receive and to give.

Think about the mercy God has granted in freely giving you the gift of salvation. Or perhaps you have been guilty of something and yet received mercy rather than judgment from an employer, a friend, or your spouse, you were forgiven your offense.

God's word commands us to forgive others. Where it is in your power to grant mercy in a given situation, pause... then reflect upon what you have been forgiven, or where God has granted you mercy in not revealing a matter.

Indeed, bind truth and mercy about your neck and use it often....
