VLSI says has not reached pact with Philips
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 29 (Reuters) - Chipmaker VLSI Technology Inc. (Nasdaq:VLSI - news) said on early Monday it has not reached a pact with Royal Philips Electronics that would allow the Dutch firm to participate in VLSI's exploration of strategic options, confirming an earlier Reuters report.

VLSI said in a statement that it has reached an agreement granting other parties access to non-public information concerning VLSI, but talks to give Philips that access have not resulted in agreement.

Let us wait for some more news today. I hope a new bidder jumps in at $ 30 a share, along with a larger than largest order in VLSI history. That will really make my day!
