Fenestrae Ships Faxination 4.0 for Microsoft Exchange
DULUTH, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 1999--
New version fully exploits MS Exchange 5.5 features and offers dynamic Universal Message Routing capabilities
Fenestrae(R), a leading international supplier of fax/messaging solutions, announced today the release of Faxination 4.0 for Microsoft(R) Exchange. This new version offers heightened integration with MS Exchange, enhancing Faxination's status as the most seamlessly integrated fax solution for Exchange. Faxination's new integration features further reduce administration and the Total Cost of Ownership. Faxination 4.0 also offers Universal Message Routing (UMR) capabilities to reduce organization's telecommunications costs. Faxination is a Microsoft Windows NT server that extends Outlook/Exchange client capabilities, enabling users to send and receive faxes just like e-mail messages. Since Faxination is specifically designed for and fully integrated with MS Exchange, there is no need for additional client software and all administration is managed using the existing Exchange infrastructure. New Faxination features include: Active Directory Support, which allows Faxination to leverage the Exchange user directory without the need to maintain additional directories; and Enterprise Logging which allows administrators to store message tracking details in Exchange public folders, ADO sources or a text (.csv) file. These features enhance the way information is managed and shared between Faxination and Microsoft Exchange.
"Faxination has always had the easiest administration, and these new features improve upon that," said Scott A. Findley, President of Fenestrae, USA. "Additionally, the new enterprise logging capabilities will change the way administrators handle enterprise reporting." Another powerful feature of Faxination 4.0 is the new Universal Message Routing, which determines the most inexpensive way to send a fax. Faxination can send faxes locally, route the fax over the existing MS Exchange backbone or pass it directly to a Fax Service Provider for delivery. This combination of routing methods offers considerable telecommunications cost reduction. "Using UMR technology can drastically reduce telecommunications costs, especially among heavy users such as large international companies," said Findley. Thomas F. Murawski, Chairman of FaxSav (NASDAQ: FAXX), the company IDC recently identified as the Internet Fax leader, adds, "Faxination 4.0 further distances itself from the competition through the seamless integration of our Internet Fax service. This messaging solution not only performs better, it eliminates the need for an expensive telecom faxing infrastructure." Fenestrae's True Integrated Messaging (TIM) architecture enables Faxination to deliver highly scalable messaging solutions designed to meet companies' ever changing communication needs. The TIM architecture can also incorporate other messaging solutions for Outlook/Exchange including mobile and telex. Additionally, TIM allows for native integration with other systems such as SAP enabling users to send and receive faxes from SAP Office and other SAP Applications. Fenestrae is an Independent Software Vendor with offices in The United States, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, Australia and Hong Kong. The company offers True Integrated Messaging solutions for the Microsoft BackOffice family and for SAP. Faxination is sold through a worldwide network of Value Added Resellers and Distributors, and is currently installed in more than 60 countries.
