Hi SJS - since this deal has no immediate impact [so I will agree with you that reaction to the stock at this time is purely anticipation - to the point of speculation,] and there is no deal details, it is hard to say.

However, this kind of alliance is always revenue sharing depending on the terms. Local exchanges have been making bundles on the back of the long distance carriers b/c the former provides the access. That's why AT&T bought TCI! Besides, so long as SB has the technologies and visibility, what stops it to go with another backbone carrier like LVLT or even WCOM. QWST is desperate for market shares; besides, its fat pipes are going to sit around anyway. Therefore, it is inconclusive who is going to get the bigger slice of the pie.
