When stocks are thinly traded the MM's tend to take advantage for
themselves. For instance, if the bid was $.51 and the ask was $.56
but a sell order comes in without anyone bidding for the stock, the
MM will buy the shares but at a much lower price, thus they lower
the bid. They now hold stock at $.44 and will sell it at $.53, not
a bad return if done several times a day! We need buyers willing
to step up the the plate, it's that simple.
