Bill, I think losing early is a must for being a good long term investor. My first stock was Medtronic and it went nowhere but up in 1967. Then I got National Equipment Rental, and it was a big winner as long as I held, though it eventually went belly up. Then, sure of my genius, I bought Ampex at $40 and watched it slip to $16 before I bailed. It eventually went to $3 and I couldn't believe that it could happen. <g> That is when I became a contrarian.
