THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29,
1999--Xircom, Inc. (Nasdaq:XIRC - news), the world leader in

confirmed it has been shipping its 56K MiniPCI modems to Hitachi
Ltd. (NYSE:HIT - news) in Japan since February.
Xircom's MiniPCI solution, which utilizes Lucent Technologies'
leading modem technology, provides a flexible and low cost
configuration alternative for communications functionality in Hitachi's
notebook PCs.
