Richard, Thanks for your response. I agree on the potential of future market dominance of the McKinley and future Risc technology from Intel. Their ability to dominate markets is unsurpassed. There are very few Mac oriented sites which discuss chip technology with depth and knowledge. EE Times is the obvious industry choice. But, there is glaring ignorance evidenced in PC oriented sites as well. Often, the dominant technologies get a "pass" rather than close questioning. Intel and MS have used this to their advantage which you can check with their "announced" technologies and dates to see how often they utilize vaporware to their marketing advantage.

As to MacKido, his site is one of the best Mac oriented sites and is brimming with information in various archives. You should not dismiss it out of hand. As to the future, IBM and Moto are working on the 5th generation of the PPC design. I do not expect it to last more than another 2 to 4 years in any case. By that time, IBM may have a different architecture or radical revision of the PPC. It originated about 8 years ago I believe. Sure, EPIC, could be the wave of the future and Apple is likely to hedge their bets by porting OS X+. It just isn't profitable or political to announce such a strategy more than 18 months before any possible product. As to endorsements in the industry, I believe it isn't so much the design of EPIC as much as the market perception of Intel technology that leads other players to hedge their bets. Also, Intel has more money than anyone except IBM for such development. IBM is also producing chips for Intel's rivals using their new copper/insulator technologies.
