The timing of the press release and TDFX's rise do coincide, so you may be right.

I am a bit confused about DFP. As far as I know, you don't need any special graphics cards to use any of the DFP monitors in use today. Is this not the case? If so, what is this new standard suppose to do and where does 3dfx fit within in?

On another note, it seems that monitor technology has come two full circles around; from analog (old ones), to digital (EGA), to analog (VGA), to digital (DFP) again. I guess you will never go bankrupt specializing in AD conversion chips <G>.
