Dear dale,
In the long run one of the two things will ultimately happen to companies that attract momentum money:

The fundamentals will catch up with valuations (SUNW, CSCO, INTC)

or Valuations will catch up with fundamentals (99% of the companies in the Internet sector).

Now the biggest question is will all this happen in our lifetime. When stocks trade based on EPS projections being adjusted 10 years down the line, it tells me something is amiss (or maybe I am just envious of investors who can pull the trigger and buy companies such as AMZN, YHOO and AOL at these valuations AND make money). I trade options frequently (both long and short), so I should not be considered a risk averse investor by a long shot; however, I can just not get myself to buy into these hyped up internet tech issues (and MSFT for that matter). I guess if SUN, LU/ASND, INTC and CSCO keep having days like today - who needs internet stocks in the portfolio.

Regards

Alok
