AMZN's auction site is going to be like EBAY's site (Person to person), which is good IMO because it doesn't directly interfere with BID.COM's progress with its own revenue streams. More of an "infringement" to EBAY.

>>>" The new auction service, which was announced late Sunday, will let people buy and sell virtually anything online. More than 800 product categories are planned. Some offerings already slated include a signed picture of Albert Einstein, a 1968 corvette and special edition Furby dolls.

''Of course we sell books, music and videos, but what auctions allow us to do is to get into hundreds of categories easily,'' said David Risher, Amazon.com's senior vice president of product development.

Amazon.com will launch the auction site on Tuesday. Consumers will access the auctions from Amazon.com's home page. "
