Ausdauer,

Though I had invested in SNDK earlier than last October, I did visit the company offices at that time and discussed various topics with Cindy Burgdorf. She was very helpful on the financial side, and at that point I decided to buy more. Book value, as you note, was at one point greater than market value. But book value generally ignores the value of patents, other than incidental costs. What I still don't know is how strong the patents are. Apparently other companies can be in this business without having to pay royalties to SanDisk. The other issue has to do with the quality of the product coming from the new plant in Taiwan, and the price of that product. So far, things look pretty favorable, but there are gaps in the information. With the number of new applications apart from digital cameras, it would appear that SanDisk should have an easier time of selling its products at a reasonable profit.
