jim at nsm also said in my phone call the mxi has been stopped at this point. the reason is they want to get the .18 fab running like crazy. so ......they will make mll and gx on it , big time. in a month or 2 we will see gx all over the place. the thing nsm is shooting for is a 1 volt consumption.intc p-2 is 8 volts. they get the low volts with .18 mic fab. so wyse , sub -$300 pcs etc. will flood the market with super-cheap pcs. they call the sub$300 pc an appliance. samsung, etc. e-machine...... selling pcs for $299. they have to boil down the gx to .18 fab to raise the clock speed and lower volt comsumption. thier idea is to make a very vlow volt , cheap , all in one chip to put into "the peoples pc" . very simular to what they did in cell phones. ericson is a super long lasting(charge ) phone thATS cheap. its so good old jim told me motarola has signed on with nsm and discontinued thier ic fab. motarola sees this anolog chip (because of low voltage) as unbeatable. so nsm sells to ericson, motarola, and qualcomm.they are making the chip in the new maine fab. jim really stressed getting the maine fab fully running. because they must charge off depreciation starting this quarter. so forget about mxi. its dead. now they will take this low volt tech into the pc. mainly the gx. the mll is also going to be produced in huge quantity. orders are coming in for it . it is a .18 fad. what nsm has done is got out of the chip mhz race and niched the .18 micron fad. repeat nsm .18 fab is running and chips are being evaluated by customers now. some thing amazing that people don't realize is nsm has 79% of the sub $600 pc market and that market will triple in the next 3 years. really its a great plan. the problem is people don't understand the plan yet (me included until today.) 1-low volt comsumption 2-max out .18 fab with gx type stuff, some mll 3-sell it to oems of low cost pcs, compaq, e-machine, ibm, microworks, fic for on the board stuff, playstation, boxtop t.v. etc.(all current customer that are active) the chip mhz race is over for nsm. for them it is the low volt and make it cheap race, and nsm is winning. the stock will go back up soon. oac100 |
