IMHO, it wouldn't take much to get ELI moving up dramatically. To retreat to Australia would eliminate any chance of this happening. It would simply represent a strategy of cutting it's losses and slowly disappearing into obscurity.
I believe that once the technology is in Australia, and working for several years, the Company can then reach back out into the world. Especially if the contract with Japan ever works out. The company seems only to have negotiated one successful contract in Canada, and that was with General Motors. The one with General Electric disappeared, as has the contract with Toronto Hydro.
The company which makes incinerators is often on Mr Chretiens Junkets around the world. As long as Lucky Jean claims that he is selling the best Incinerators in the world, he isn't going to deal with Eco Logic. The Australian operations are becoming a success, and as they are successful, there will be more interest in Eco Logic. I bought this stock at $6.95, and again at $3.00, I believe in the product, but NO ONE in Canada wants to use this process. There is no will in this country to do anything about the problem with PCB's and similiar problems. When they trucked hundreds of litres of PCB's from Quebec to Swan Hills the Ontario government didn't even blink. When we had the disasterous fire in Hamilton, even the environment ministry couldn't think of a way to clean up the mess, and Eco Logic is within 100 miles of the site of the fire.
OTOH an announcement that Eco Logic was taking it's world class technology and leaving Canada, might get some action out of the Ontario and Canadian governments...... A move to Buffalo might be all that is needed. The other option is for the Company to find a friendly person to buy the place..... The Japanese are nice, or maybe the Americans might buy it.......
Canada is simply too much of a backwater to support the research and development that this company needs.
Besides if they leave now they will miss the new rules that Mr Martin is bringing in about companies or people leaving Canada..... |
