I've flown over it a number of times. Been back and forth to Iceland
and it's on the way. There was a big move to explore for diamonds
in Icleand a few years ago because the interior is all volcanoes,
many of which are still active. The effort was abandoned. Nobody's
come up with anything econominc in minerals in Iceland. Greenland
may be another story. Impression I get is deep fjords, glaciers,
very steep mountains, incredibly inhospitable. But lots of of
old volcanoes. It'll be interesting to see waht they find and what
the costs of mining would be. Thre is no infrastructure. Roads, etc. Everything and I mean everything
has to be imported. The Danes have been in charge in Greenland
for a long time so everything has to be done through them.Next time I'm in Iceland I'm planning on making a day trip to Greenland but that's all it will be because of the costs. Should be something on
the Web re the geology. Mightg check under Denmark and Danish
companies.
