"....Madera is a U.S. dollar exporter, Brazil is paid in U.S. Dollars. All banking is done with a U.S. corresponding bank located in Brazil. By doing this, Madera U.S. dollar bank account takes advantage of the changing values of the Brazil dollar......"
a "u.s. dollar exporter"????? it is my understanding that you can not have a u.s. dollar bank account in brazil, in fact, in manaus, there is citibank, for credit card carrying tourists & there is bank of boston, but neither is what you define as a "u.s. corresponding bank" in brazil (if your definition is that they have accounts in brazil in american dollars). in fact american co.'s transfering funds to brazil must send a wire, a check, to the banco de brazil in los angeles, where it is converted into brazilian currency. i believe the only market for u.s. dollars in brazil is the 'black market'. as for the "80%" figure you question, it is a figure from suframa, not from me, the reason, given by suframa, for 80% of all timbering being performed illegal is because of the vastness of the rainforest & the shortage of agents to enforce the law. ".....Madera pays it Brazil labor by converting U.S. dollar into Brazil money. ....."
where & how does it do this? in a "corresponding bank in brazil"? i suggest you go down that long list of agencies you gave me & attempt to validate the contentions you have made here. name for me a "u.s. corresponding bank" in brazil that has an "american dollar account" in brazil. you say "brazil is paid in u.s. dollars" ?? are you claiming , in brazil, there are accounts with american dollars that madera "paid" ? are these on the black market? can you name such a bank where these accounts exist? thanks in advance.
