I once saw the Empire vein stripped on the surface in Beardmore. (1984) It was about 800 feet long and 4 to 8 feet wide. The S fold noses blew out to about 15 feet in places every 50 to 75 feet along the vein which was a simple and very persistent quartz vein ore with about 3 to 5% sulphides. It was supposed to run about 0.60 ounce ore for 40% of its length. Now that I recall it could have been mined as a tabular vein and in looking at the plans and long sections of the stopes at the Empire that is exactly how they blocked out their ore. The Sand River too. It was about 700 feet of continuous 0.50 ounces per ton and 3 feet wide. It was mined by resuing and made money. The Empire veins could be shrunk and may be able to hold 1/2 ounce. The company then would not mine it as they did not underground work. So it may be possible that the western deposits in this belt may hold blockable ore that can be tabular and continuous. The Empire had an impressive strike length and was far from being solely plunging saddles as the Mcleod was.
