Raven,

Since I'm currently in Macedonia, I thought I'd share a little with you. You are correct when you said that the stream of refugees has eased into Macedonia, but it hasn't into Albania.

Between 7:00 am on Sunday and 7:00 pm, there were approximately 650
refugees who crossed into Macedonia at the General Jankovic/Blaceborder between Macedonia and Yugoslavia. Between 7:00 pm and 7:00 am Monday, the border did not register any crossings. Sources in Skopje estimate that there are now 18,000-20,000 refugees registered in Macedonia.

Macedonia, after Albania, is Europe's poorest country, but the resources here are far superior to that of Albania. UNHCR will be able to handle those refugees in Macedonia. Albania is problem at the moment.

When you say that FYROM truly hate Macedonian Greeks, it's actually the opposite. FYROM Macedonians are a placid people and want everything they can get from the Greeks, but it's the Greeks who play the games. Close the borders whenever they feel. Allow only one car every 30 minutes during the height of summer vacation. Refuse shipping company trucks from entering Greece because their drivers are FYROM Macedonian. And on, and on, and on. All because of a name.

Just thought I'd pass on some info.

Cheers, Rory.
