YES... I don't see many +$12,000 days.

I follow channels. PLAT had been in the $18-19 range a few months ago and seemed to be basing around 10. It was just luck that there was a buy out. I was looking for 12-14. I do the same with CMNT. I bought at 11 for the third time in 3 months; closed yesterday @14 5/8. I had also just bought back into NITE ($54) on the big dip last week.

I have given up on the so called long term hold. I bought CPQ a year ago @26 & 29. It went to 51 and then slide back to 30. Had I sold I could have picked up another 400 shares @30 with the profits. Does not bother me that I might lose any further climb. Never go broke taking profits and stocks always ebb and flow. I would have sold NITE at the close (ACAT trans) as I'd bet we will see profit taking today and lose perhaps 5 points.

Now when there is a big run up I sell the next day at the open (assuming premarket does not indicate a gap one way or the other) and wait for a pullback to buy back in. I buy the same number of shares and take profits off the table or buy into another stock like PLAT so the gamble is with profits.
