But that doesn't mean its a great idea. I've received exactly the opposite advice (i.e., yes its legal but don't do it) in a similar situation. Imagine our poor children who haven't slogged through this thread for years, "Dad is that the x-ray diffractive prduct line or the non-volatile memory company?" Great way to build a brand: start with a real shaky foundation, pick a weird name already in use on someone else's product, confuse the bejeepers out of your dumb shareholders with a company name that is a homonym for another company you own.....
