Your correlation between spot and contract prices is and interesting way to try and predict pricing, given the partnering relationships.

Here’s another source to throw into the prediction pot. Michael Dell mentioned in an interview after their great numbers, that he sees memory prices continuing to decline and that it could take another 12 months before they turn upward.

He also kept mentioning that with a 17 day inventory turn, they can quickly pass lower memory prices onto their customers. One would think that with a company of that size, most of their memory is purchased on contract, which if true, means contract prices are continuing to drop.
