chuzz..re marketing..

thanks the comment..i to would pose the question in hopes there is someone out there who is an astute follower of retail...and i don't mean 26 year old phenoms who cling to ames...i think the long term answer in the value of e-tailers, lies in the retailers...for unless someone can provide a logical contra view...i must conclude they are of the same gene pool....

the only issues that i feel have some uniqueness are auto-by-tel (and various similar issues)...and is it priceline .com(correct me if i'm wrong..lodging and travel accomodations)....these may be niche situations...why..

auto sales for years have been transacted in japan sans showroom..purchase thru a catalogue from a door to door salesman...pick up your car at a central location...daewoo attempting to market this way...large dealers have set up internet sales departments and pay on a monthly basis for the referrals...incremental sales....
priceline.com? is in essence the manifestation of the typical english "bucket shop"...where left over tickets and lodging capacity is dumped to be sold at any price...costs the same to fly a half full plane as...again incremental revenues to the primary...

give it some thought and hope we can find a retail guru...good luck, ed a.
