OK, so I want to leave the details of your tick model for a minute and take it as given. So given, you have a model of internal strength/supply/demand of the stock. Why should the past be predictive of the future given the outputs of your model any differently than the way you discard traders' commitments? In your own words:

I can't see where knowing what others have done tells you what they and different others will do
