You make some very good points there, including the one that we will most likely not be the world's "greatest power" forever, and if and when we do slide down the slippery slope as all "empires" eventually do, how will WE like it when "the shoe is on the other foot"? Making foreign policy decisions is somewhat like chess, in that one must almost always think at least two or three different moves ahead, if not more. Yogi
