Never thought I would meet a fellow "lover" of the band here! Back in 1980 and 81, I did some radio promotion work for the band, getting them played more on NY, NJ and Pennsylvania stations, and supplying free tickets for them to give out on their "first caller" type phone in games. As a consequence, I ended up bringing some radio DJ's back stage to meet with the band and listen to the "tales of the road", etc. They are very nice folks, but one thing I learned is just how tiring a tour can be on a band's members!
I took some pictures of Annie and the band just below the stage at several concerts, and at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, I'll never forget how they let me climb up on one of the huge speakers to get a better shot! Not only did I HEAR "Ashes are Burning", I FELT it vibrating through my bones! Yogi |
