Been thinking about this latest Datapower twist and now I'm inclined to think that we are closer to closing this merger than we might suspect. The pictures on the web site seems to indicate that they have all the equipement tested and ready to go for this telecom venture. That probably means that they've been working on this deal for months now. The planned stock offering for $10million will probably take place with Datapower trading under ISSMD, and that too has been in the game plan all along. Perhaps this joint venture was the real reason that Datapower had wanted to go public in the first place.

The recent break-up of the Brazilian telephone monopoly probably opened up the window of opportunity for this deal and Harris decided to jump aboard, but needed a publicly traded company to get access to the finances that he requires to pull this off.

I don't mind some share dilution as long as this new venture will be profitable. And from what I am reading about the telecom opportunities in Brazil right now, it looks good...almost like the situation after the breakup of ATT in the US (albeit on a much smaller scale).
