Five years ago, Bill is not as serious as today about online service and e-commerce. The current strategy is to leapfrog AOL with ADSL or cable, and it will be available in 200 cities this June. #1 and #2 will not be happening, but #3 option is underway. MSFT can easily acquire a few portals to become the #1. If AOL can buy NSCP to increase its eyeballs, what stops MSFT from buying a few others? Remeber, it is war between MSFT and AOL/NSCP.
