Douglas, You raise some interesting concerns. As I understand it, Starnet's intention was to eventually become platform-independent so that any user running an industry-standard browser particularly Netscape and Internet Explorer and a defined minimum of system specifications will be able to run the company's software. Currently, it's Windows 95 and higher which represents the vast majority of users. In 2 years it's likely to be 64-bit Windows 2000. Many users with Pentium I machines and high 486's and 586's report only the lite version of the software runs efficiently. Mac OS users may be out of luck at least with casino functionality until the applications are recoded. I would guess that 85% of users worldwide will be running Windows anyway so maybe Starnet will not be all things to all online gamblers. Playstar has/is developing all it's software based on Java technology which seems to perform respectably well. Though many new development companies are joining the I-gaming frenzy with great products I do not believe any are at risk of derailment for the foreseeable future. TG
