I disagree. More importantly, Compaq disagrees. I was disappointed and angry when SVNI staged that coup, but at the moment I'm much happier owning a piece of the current technology than I was when the Queen of Interactivity was involved.

And earlier today I put my money where my mouth is by increasing my ITOY holdings by 250%.
