Jeffrey, there is a slight frequency shifted sound duplication, but it just makes you sound more sonorous, sometimes a little out of tune. I understand that this is no more than 1% of the sound content if the fluorescent light source is no closer than 6 feet from the screen. It is apparently due to light amplification through stimulated emission resonance. It is only the slight amount of UV emitted from most fluorescent lamps which causes this, and for those bothered, a UV absorbing transparent layer (a vinylmethylsiloxane trymethylsiloxy terminated polymer or its copolymer with dimethylsiloxane trymetylsiloxy terminated) can be sprayed over the tube.
