carl, i've figured it out. thanks! mu is the low cost producer b/c everyone leaves one market and the mu laggards stay behind to make some crumbs off the table. since nobody else (in their right mind) is interested in 16 mb dram as their future, MAYBE mu is the lcp for that part. voila!
